Blog from WimbledonFriday - Well, things got a little crazy over here and I feel like I haven't had a free minute. Sorry for not getting a blog out on Thursday. I had probably the longest day of my life yesterday. Scott and I lost our second round match 15-13 in the 5th set. In Wimbledon, you not only play best of 5 sets, but in the final set, you don't play a tie-breaker. So the official score line was 6-3, 6-7, 3-6, 6-4, 15-13. The match lasted almost 5 hours. I remember having a conversation with my coach (Ryan Dussault) in February when we took a look at the summer season. We decided rather than playing every single week on the clay, that I should take a couple weeks off to practice and maybe squeeze in a couple hardcourt challengers during the clay season, just to make sure I had a positive attitude and some confidence heading into the French. So, with all that in mind...I set off for the heart of the clay court season. Read more of Eric’s blog in Big Cat's Corner! St. Brieuc / CasablancaAs I mentioned previously, I was on a four week/four tournament strech...the second half of the trip was played on dirt as I was full swing into my pre-Roland Garros training sur le terre battu.
